St. Vrain Valley School District committments and vision
Fostering Academic Excellence & Innovation
Build world-class public schools that prepare every child to succeed through strong teaching, innovation, and opportunity.
- Keep SVVSD’s strong graduation rate by making sure every student has a clear path to succeed.
- Support students learning English by strengthening dual-language programs and providing families with the help they need.
- Prioritize early literacy by ensuring K–3 teachers have the training and resources they need so every child learns to read well.
- Expand access to Gifted & Talented programs by supporting teacher training and family partnerships so opportunity is open to all students.
- Expand hands-on learning in science, business, arts, and technology through programs like the Innovation Center and Career Elevation & Technology Center.
- Support teachers in using new tools like AI while protecting student privacy and helping kids stay safe online.
Ensuring Safe & Respectful Schools
Champion public schools where every student feels safe, respected, and valued, and where differences are celebrated as strengths.
- Support and oversee safety plans so every school is ready for emergencies.
- Support student mental health by ensuring schools have enough counselors and staff to meet needs.
- Support tools like Safe2Tell so students can speak up and be partners in keeping schools safe.
- Protect and support free school meals for all so no child has to learn on an empty stomach.
- Build respect by supporting restorative practices and making sure every student and family feels welcome.
- Strengthen partnerships between parents, teachers, and the community so schools stay focused on student success.
Creating Pathways to Opportunity
Give students many paths to success, from college courses to career programs like P-TECH, so every graduate is ready for the future.
- Expand P-TECH programs so students can earn free college credit and connect to good careers.
- Expand AP, IB, and college-credit programs so families save money and students are ready for college.
- Grow our own teachers through P-TEACH, helping today’s students prepare to become tomorrow’s educators and keeping our schools strong.
- Oversee the use of 2024 bond funds to expand career and technical spaces, giving students training in fields like construction, health care, and technology.
Planning for Smart Growth & Fiscal Responsibility
Plan ahead for growth and fight for fair funding for our public schools at the state level.
- Oversee the 2024 bond, supported by 74% of voters, to ensure new schools and career-tech spaces are delivered on time, on budget, and with no tax increase.
- Work with parents, teachers, community leaders, and elected officials to make sure schools reflect community priorities.
- Plan for growth and advocate for fair funding for our public schools at the state level.
- Keep the budget transparent and make sure funding goes where students need it most.
- Save taxpayer money by continuing the district’s smart refinancing practices, which have already saved the community over $82 million.
- Advocate for fair state funding while protecting our district’s financial health.
These goals are achievable with community support and strategic implementation. Join me in creating an education system that prepares every student for success.
